Showcasing Artists Announced for Contact East 2017

Atlantic Presenters Association (APA) is pleased to announce the showcasing line up for Contact East 2017 taking place September 21 – 24 in Membertou, Cape Breton. Over 150 regional, national and international delegates will take in three days of artistic discovery.

The artists submissions we received were top quality and came from artists from across the country, the United States and Australia,” says Angela Campbell, President of the APA Board of Directors. “It made for some hard work for the jury who selected the artists, and has yielded a fantastic line up of talented artists from the theatre, music and dance communities who will perform in Membertou in September.”

Contact East is a unique opportunity to see a variety of top-notch, award-winning multi-disciplinary artists from around the globe. Delegates representing venues and festivals from around the world will be in Cape Breton to do business by booking many of these artists. Artists to be featured in the Showcases at Membertou Trade and Convention Centre and at the Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay include André Rodrigues, Andrew Collins Trio, AYRAD, Betty Bonifassi, Chris Kirby & Kim Dunn, Cy, Diyet, Eastern Front Theatre’s “Lullaby: Inside the Halifax Explosion”, Eric Harper, Heather Rankin, Hogtown Brass Quintet, James & Jamesy, Kobo Town, Lloyd Spiegel, Matthew Byrne, Meaghan Blanchard, Nicolas Pellerin et les Grands Hurleurs, Ouroboros, Payadora Tango Ensemble, Rum Ragged, Stéphanie Morin-Robert’s “BLINDSIDE”, Tanika Charles, The Small Glories, Tomas Kubinek, Union Duke and Video Phase.

Another feature of Contact East is the popular Pitch Sessions, which will take place at the Highland Arts Theatre.
